Orchards and Artwork

Happy Fall! This past weekend, Alex and I rented a car and drove out to the Hudson Valley. Every year we’ve lived in the city, we have always gone apple picking during October. It is one of my favorite fall things to do and it has the added advantage of being a very socially distanced activity!! Plus, enjoying warm apple cider donuts and fresh apple cider is always a win in my book!

The Adirondack Mountains

Alex and I spent Labor Day weekend in the Adirondack Mountains. This was our first time leaving New York City since March and I cannot tell you how enjoyable our time upstate was. Simply being able to sit outside by the fire, hike several great trails and relax in a bit more space was exactly what we both needed.

Long Island City

We have officially been in New York for one month and I cannot believe how quickly these last few weeks have flown. We are trying to take advantage of being back in this amazing city and definitely feel like we are in the “honeymoon” phase. In the past, Alex and I would hibernate and venture only so far from our apartment during winter in New York (thankfully, everything you could possibly need or want is only a short walk away or can be delivered right to your doorstop!). This time around, things are still fresh and new and we are making sure to take advantage of our free time and explore some “new-to-us” neighborhoods.

I ❤️ New York

I love New York.  We lived in Manhattan for seven years and have so many wonderful memories and amazing friends who continue to live there.  I still can't believe we left over four years ago!  Each time we go back, I always have a list of favorite places and I constantly struggle with balancing visiting our "old haunts" and taking the time to explore new ones.  Alex and I have gotten better about trying at least one new restaurant while in the city and then re-visiting all of our old favorites.
