Parsons Green & Fulham
When we first decided to move to London, we were unsure where we wanted to live. Alex reached out to a friend of his who is from London for some guidance. Two of the neighborhoods he suggested were Parsons Green and Fulham (located next to each other in Southwest London). We ultimately decided to live in Notting Hill, but ventured out this past Friday to visit this area and both really enjoyed it! It definitely had a neighborhood feel with lots of shops and cute restaurants.
We decided to go early so we could grab breakfast at Hally's, an adorable brunch spot in Parsons Green. Alex had eggs and toast while I had the greek yogurt and granola and we decided to split the ricotta pancakes. It was all delicious!
After brunch, we walked over to All Saints Church in Fulham. We were able to go inside the church which had a beautiful peaked ceiling and colorful stained glass windows.
Behind the church is a pathway to Fulham Palace. Historically the palace was a residence and belonged to the Bishop of London. Today, it is free enter and you can explore the beautiful gardens, a small exhibition and cafe.
There were lots of families picnicking outside the palace. We did go inside in search of the exibitions, but were only able to find two rooms open, each with a plaque detailing what the room was for. It was a bit underwhelming inside, but the gardens and outdoor space made up for it!
Our last stop was Bishops Park next to the Thames River where we sat on a bench and were able to people-watch and enjoy the river before heading home.
