Notting Hill
We spent Saturday walking around our neighborhood in Notting Hill. When we decided to start our travels, we thought London would be the perfect place to begin. It's English speaking, we are used to larger cities after living in both San Francisco and New York, and knew there was a lot to explore. We chose to live in Notting Hill as it is neighborhoody and centrally located plus, in all the pictures it looked so quaint and beautiful - it definitely does not disappoint!
We started our morning walking down Portobello Road as they have a market every Saturday. Vendors were selling everything from antiques, souvenirs, food, produce, and flowers. We didn't buy anything since our suitcases are already packed to the brim; however, it was fun to look.
After visiting the market, we went to Lancaster Road which is one of London's most colorful streets.
We also walked to St. Luke's Mews which was one of my favorite streets we saw in Notting Hill. The alley itself was so picturesque and quiet since we went first thing in the morning.
We then spent the remainder of the morning walking along various other streets in Notting Hill including Elgin Crescent and Westbourne Grove Street. I think we are going to be happy living in Notting Hill and we both are looking forward to exploring more of our neighborhood.
