Brighton Beach

Alex and I spent Thursday at Brighton Beach.  The beach is a 30-minute train ride from Melbourne and is famous for its 82 bathing boxes painted in a rainbow of colors.  Many of these bathing boxes were built over a 100 years ago when beachgoers were more modest and neck-to-knees bathing suits were the style.  I loved walking along the beach and looking at all the beautifully painted boxes.  I read online that last year one of these bathing boxes sold for over $320,000!  Guess we won't be purchasing one of these any time soon!

After admiring the bathing boxes, we found a place to park our towels and relaxed on the beach for a couple of hours. Thursday was one of the most beautiful days we've had since arriving to Melbourne and it was a great way to spend the day.
