Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival

I love fall! I love everything apple cider, pumpkin and when the leaves change color. To celebrate my favorite season, Alex and I took advantage of the Half Moon Bay Art and Pumpkin Festival. This festival has been around since 1971 and has grown significantly since that time. The town of Half Moon Bay is absolutely charming and they really go all out for this once-a-year event. There are tons of craft booths, food stalls, and different stages set up with live music and entertainment. Everything is set up along Main Street and goes for several blocks.

We even got to see the largest pumpkin in the world which came in at a whopping 2,170 pounds! They had to move the pumpkin around with a forklift! Crazy stuff.

We ended the afternoon by watching the festival parade. The parade went for almost an hour and had many colorful floats, marching bands, and local community sponsors driving funny cars. Despite the large crowd and the $20 fee for parking, it was a fun day and who can complain when your belly is full of pumpkin donuts, pumpkin pie and pumpkin ale?!?! (Did I mention I like pumpkin?)
