Porto Bridges Cruise

As Porto boarders the Douro River, there is an opportunity to take a short boat tour to see the six bridges that separate Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia.  The boat cruise starts in the Ribeira quay and makes it way up and down the Douro River.  It was a nice way to see the river and the cities from this perspective.

We also visited the Palacio de Cristal (Crystal Palace) and surrounding gardens in the afternoon. The palace is now an entertainment venue, but makes for a pretty domed backdrop to the gardens and River Douro in the background.

We have truly enjoyed our time in Porto - it is such a beautiful city full of color and interesting architectural details.  Yesterday, we took the bus to Lisbon, the last stop of our Portugal tour before heading back to the States.  Can't believe we will be home in just a couple of weeks!
